Welcome to Adiyen Sri Ramanuja Dasan !
" Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha !"
130 Q .: We all know moolavar is Suyambu. As such, can you describe how the moolvar is from his ankel downwards? I don't think there is an aarthara peedam or any kind. Also, I do don't think there is any ashtabhandanm for Moolavar right? or is there a swarnabhandanam?
Ans .: No body, including Archakas, know Answer to this! Because all of the Current day Archakas have not witnessed, how it looked like, below the feet downwards. As it is completely closed and for us it looks normal in the normal view. Like above the ground, we can see the Padma Peetham, on which the sacred lotus feet of Lord Srinivasa is standing. There is Asta Bandhanam and it will be once in 12 years (last time is 2006), and in 2006 Asta Bandhana Maha Samprokshanam, I got the life time luck to participate in taking out the old Asta Bandhanam and inserting the New Paste of Asta Bandhanam. It was a Blessed experience. There is no Swarna Bandhanam.
131 Q .: During the samprokshanam, in every temple, kalakarshanam is done to transfer the powers of the moolavar to the Pradhana Ghatam. (Kumbam). For for Thiruvenkatamudaiyaan, it's said that no matter who or how the kala aakarshanam is done, one can't really transfer all the powers out.
Hence, it seems that daily lagu (simple) thiruvaarathanam is done. But during the period after the official kalakarshanam is done, the screen or thirai in the moolastanam is closed right? and it's only open during the Mahashanthi Thirumanjanam?
Ans .: Yes it is right that no body can transfer the Kala of Lord Srinivasa into a Kumbham. Infact in temples where Lord himself came and stood as Archavathara in Swayambhu form, it is clear that this procedure of Kala Akarshanam (Transferring the Cosmic energy of the main deity into a Sacred pot) in to Kumbham is performed, since the Agamas insist to do it as part of the entire procedure. But here in Tirumala the practice is unique.
Normally in any Vaikhanasa worship temple, after performing the Kalakarshanam ritual and transferring the Kala into a Kumbham, it is construed that the Kumbham will replace the Mulavirat, till the Samprokshana is over. And hence all the rituals are performed to the Kumbham and the Working staff can enter the Sanctum and can undertake any works inside the Sanctum and can even touch the Mulavirat indoing so. While undertaking the works, usually the Mulavirat is closed with cloths and tied firmly to avoid damages.
But in Tirumala the practice is different, though, for the sake of Agama, the Kalakarshana ritual is performed, no body can enter the Sanctum and touch the Mulavirat idol, Since HE is so powerful. So all the repair works, what ever, will be taken up by the Archakas (Vaikhanasas) inside the Sanctum.
