108. Q .: After Ankurarpanam is performed for a Brahmotsavam and at any point of time we discover the sprouts from the seeds are in black colour or we discover the sprouts are not growing in a way as we expect are there any rituals to compensate this effect ( or Dosham)or the Brahmotsavam can be stopped in the middle? Why isn't there any Dhwaja Sthambham( Flag Post) not established in the Lord Varaha Swamy Temple? Are there Processional Deities for Lord Varaha Swamy? why are we not conducting any Uthsavams to Lord Varaha Swamy?
Ans .: For the expiations (including the one you mentioned about Ankurarpanam) that occured during Brahmotsavams, the Pushpa Yagam festival has to be performed. This is an overall solution for all mistakes that occured during Brahmotsavams. It is indicated to be performed on the 10th day of the Brahmotsavams. Even in Sri Venkatachala Mahatyam also it was mentioned that, When Lord Brahma arranged for the performance of the first Brahmotsavams to Lord Venkateswara with the help of Vikhanasa Maharshi, Brahma also performed the Pushpa Yagam festival on the 10th day. But at Tirumala this festival was stopped due to unknown reasons in the course of time and was again restarted by the Temple Authorities.
In Tirumala, Lord Varaha Swamy Shrine is considered as a sub-temple to Lord Venkateswara's temple just like Yoga Narasimha Swamy Sannidhi near Srivari Hundi and Varadaraja Swamy Sannidhi in the Agneya side. Also there is no performance of Utsavams for Lord Varaha Swamy, since the Kshetra Daivam is Lord Venkateswara. It is not auspicious, according to Vaikhanasa Scriptures, to perform Utsavams, which are not customary according to the Temple Sampradayam, and also to the Sub-Temple deities. Since there are no Utsavams are performed in this shrine as such there is no Dwajasthambham here. Once in the era of Mahants (some 130 years back), when the temple was ruined, then a Balalayam was consecrated in the present Aina Mahal (or Addala Mantapam inside Srivari temple to the left of Dwajasthambham and oppoisite to Ranganayakula Mantapam, where the daily Dolotsavam is performed in the afternoon) and the Lord is offered daily Puja's there for about 1 year till the new temple get readied.
There is one Panchaloha deity of Varaha Swamy in the Sanctum which is of 1feet in height and also a Venkateswara's Panchaloha idol of the same height. It is not an Utsava idol but it is called Kautuka Beram of Varaha Shrine.
109. Q .: (1) How come this poornima's garuda seva was not performed ?
Ans .: Pournami Garuda Seva will not be performed, if there is an usual Temple Festival on that day. Like for Kartika Pournima, there is a festival of lights and the Archaka has to keep the Jyothis all along the temple and around the Mada streets. So whenever there is a Temple Festival on a Pournami day, the Garuda Seva will not be performed.
(2) To which lord on the pillar in the SDS mantapam harathi is performed before offering nakashatra harathi and harathi to SREE MALAYAPPA SWAMY and HIS CONSORTS ?
Ans .: It is not a Temple Custom or it is not a part of Temple Tradition to offer Harathi to Lord Narasimha Swamy present on the pillar behind that Swing during Sahasra Deepalankara Seva. Its just the person named Sabera Ramu, out of his devotion towards Narasimha Swamy is performing this. All the Upacharams to Lord at Tirumala Temple will be performed by Vaikhanasa Archakas, so it is not a part of Temple Rituals. (Ramu is not an Archaka, he is a Paricharaka and belong to Sri Vaishnava community).
(3) Will the artists singing songs be allowed for darshanam the same day ?
Ans .: Yes the Artists are allowed for Darsan along with the Sahasra Deepalankara Seva ticket holders after the Seva.
