Welcome to Adiyen Sri Ramanuja Dasan !
" Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha !"
19. Q .: why partiality ? we(sevarthis) not allowed to see the lord not more than few seconds but the vvvips are allowed to see him for a longer time. Are we not true to lord or our bhakthi to lord is very less when compared to vvips. or is it only the money which speaks in tirumala? if any body has money and fame he will be allowed to see the lord for longer time when compared to the general public. and when there is a saying that only lord decides on ones travel to tirumala or in simple words he calls the person to his temple who decides the visit of vvips to tirumala. how is Sonia gandhi treated when she visits to tirumala ? is she allowed to enter the sanctrum as she is not a hindu?
Ans .: (Ref. Ans.: 18 Contd...) It is not the Darsan that WE Get It is the Darsan That HE Gives. Though my explanation might not satisfy u'r query I'll give u the facts.
The average pilgrims that visit Tirumala is to the tune of 35,000 per day and 50,000 per day in the weekends. This Statistics is in 2005. But Now a days the Average pilgrim reached to 60,000 and 90,000 in weekends.
The Arrangements at Tirumala is like this.
Accomodation wise the arrangements will be at the maximum 30,000. There was a controversy to further develop cottages to pilgrims that Tirumala is becoming a concrete Jungle and it should not be deprived of the Natural Beauty we are experiencing there. So now a days TTD is giving importance to construct Amenities Complex rather than individual cottages.
Coming to Darsan, everyday we get on an average daily 19 hours for arranging darsan to pilgrims (whether VIP's or public). Below is the time that is available thru out the week for darsan.
Suprabhatham (20 minutes) + Thomala Seva (30 mts) + Sahasra Namarchana (30 mts) + Koluvu (15 min.s) + I Bell (First Food Offering) ( 15 min.s) + Sathumorai (10 min) + Suddi (10 min) + II Archana, II Bell (20 min), Then in the Evening Night Kainkaryam Thomala Sea, Archana, Night Bell (1 hr) ----> Its totally 3 1/2 hrs and Then the time gap between closing the Door (Ekantha Seva) and opening (Suprabhatham) is 1 hr.
So Totally it is 4 1/2 hrs and + 30 min. for any delays incurred if at all, So the total time for rituals daily will be 5 hrs. The remaining 19 hrs are for Sarvadarsan.
Adding to this is special weekly Sevas like
Wednesday Sahasra Kalasabhishekam (1 hr),
Thursday Tiruppavada + Sallimpu (Removal of Jewels) (1 hr),
Friday Abhishekam, Samarpana (Adornment of Jewels), II Thomala (2 1/2 hrs)
In Laghu Darsan format (darsan from 60 feet) per hour it is estimated that 2000 people can have Darsan, In Maha Laghu darsanam (Darsan from 80 feet i.e. from Bangaru vakili) format per hour it is 4000 ppl. approximately.
So the time we get daily for sarvadarsan is
Monday - 19 hrs, Tuesday - 18 1/2 hrs, Wednesday - 18 hrs, Thursday - 18 hrs, Friday - 17 1/2 hrs, Saturday - 19 hrs, Sunday 19 hrs
If the crowd reaches maximum i.e. up to 60000 then MahaLaghu Darsanam is implemented. So In this format depending on the day and the availability of time x no. of pilgrims, the darsan can be arranged is For Monday 19 x 4000 = 76000.
TTD has taken several measures to allow maximum number of people for darsan,
**like the Thomala, Sahasra Namrchana is ekantham i.e there will be no ticket for these sevas on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
** There will no VIP break on the above days.
But on Festivla days like Vaikunta Ekadasi, Jan 1st the crowd will reach 1 1/2 lacs per day.
And, right from the begining, in the History of Temple, it has the tradition of respecting VIP's. So as part of it, some preference will be given to VIP's like CM of all states,PM,President, Governors of all states, High Court Cheif Justices of all States, Supreme Court Cheif Justices like this there are many people who fall under compulsory VIP category. So for them it is unavoidable to make darsan arrangements. I'm not supporting VIP's but I'm saying that people in the above category has to be respected.
In this total of 1/2 hour is set for VIP Break on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
So Finally,
IT IS NOT THE DARSAN THAT WE GET IT IS THE DARSAN THAT HE GIVES.
Jai Srimannaryana !
