Ans .: Vasantotsavam will start in the afternoon by 2pm and continues till 4pm. Then from 4pm to 6pm, Vishesha Samarpana or adoration of special jewels for the procession in the evening from 6:30pm onwards around four mada streets.
Ankurarpana is not performed for the Annual three day Vasantotsavam. Ankurarpana is performed for festivals which contain Homams as part of it, like Pavithrotsavam, Jyeshtabhishekam, Pushpa Yagam, Brahmotsavam etc. where as Vasantotsavam is just an abhishekam, also called as Eka Kalasa Snapana Tirumanjanam.
This Annual Vasantotsavam is different from the Snapana Tirumanjanam in Brahmotsavams(it is not Vasantotsavam, but Snapana Tirumanjanam in Brahmotsavams). In this only arti is performed in between change of dravyams( milk, curd, honey, coconut water, turmeric and sandal).
On the 2nd day of Annual Vasantotsavams the Golden chariot is taken out for procession around four mada streets in the morning 8am.
Malayappa Swamy will come on Golden Chariot, during the Vasantotsavam in Brahmotsavam(6th day ) in the evening.then during Vaikunta Ekadasi in the morning, then in the Vasantotsavam on the 2nd day.
In the Annual Brahmotsavams, on the 6th day evening(Hanumantha Vahanam), Vasantotsavam is performed, but it is a special type of Tirumanjanam in that only prokshana of all dravyams mixed together is done on utsava deities. then they r taken for a procession in the golden chariot.
