Welcome to Adiyen Sri Ramanuja Dasan !
" Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha !"
charanam III:
There are drops of pearls on Her pretty cheeks. Can you guess the reason? it may be due to the lord, "Venkatapathi", Sweating with the ecstasy of love for Her, could have the have kissed Her lotus like face. These could be the beauty of His sweat drops. Isn't it?
saint annamacharya composed thousands of sringarakirthans, depicting the passtimes of lord of seven hills and his beloved consort, sri padmavathi devi. this kirtana is a typical one, that glorifies the madhurya rasam. swami ramanuja says that supreme lord alone is the purusha (enjoyer) and all the chit (sentinent) and achit (insentinent matter) is only prakrithi (enjoyed). also it is said in srimad bgavatham that " madhuryam navavidha pradhanam", meaning that madhurya rasa is supreme among all nine forms of bakri (navavidha bakti). it is to be noted that most of the alwars glorified the lord in madhurya rasam only, including sri andal, tirumangai alwar (who considered himself as parakala nayaki, a gopika stree, who lost her lord sri krishna in forest).
there may be many valid reasons, by reminissating which we can understand why annamacharya wrote so many srigraara kritanas. fistly he might have got the real soubhagyam to see the lord's shringara passtimes with sri padmavathi thayaar with his devine eye. secondly since annamacharya accepted sreevaishnava sampradayam and learned prabandam from the first jeeyar of ahobila matam, he is noboubt of being influenced by the deep madhurya makti of alwars, specially sree andal, coz, in many of the annamayya kritis, the term "soodi kudutha nanchari" appears, that refers to sri andal (godadevi) only.
